പൗരത്വഭേദഗതി ബില്ല് ഉടൻ നടപ്പാക്കാൻ കേന്ദ്രം
ന്യൂഡൽഹി: 2024 ലെ ലോക്സഭാ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് മുന്നോടിയായി പൗരത്വ ഭേദഗതി നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കാൻ ഒരുങ്ങി കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ. പൗരത്വ അപേക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ഓൺലൈൻ പോർട്ടൽ ഉടൻ സജ്ജമാക്കും. സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരുകളുടെ ഇടപെടലുകൾ ഒഴിവാക്കി പൗരത്വം നൽകാനാണ് നീക്കം.
2019 ഡിസംബർ 10 ന് ലോക്സഭയിലും , 11 ന് രാജ്യസഭയിലും പൗരത്വ ഭേദഗതി ബില്ല് പാസായത്. 2020 ജനുവരിയിൽ കേന്ദ്രം നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കികൊണ്ട് വിജ്ഞാപനം പുറത്തിറക്കിയെങ്കിലും ഭേദഗതി ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല. കേരളം, ബംഗാള്‍, രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ അടക്കമുള്ള പ്രതിപക്ഷ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ പൗരത്വ ഭേദഗതിയെ എതിര്‍ത്തിരുന്നു. പൗരത്വ ഭേദഗതിയെ ചൊല്ലി രാജ്യ വ്യാപക പ്രക്ഷോഭം ആരംഭിച്ചതും തുടര്‍നടപടികള്‍ വൈകുന്നതിന് കാരണമായി. എന്നാല്‍ കോവിഡ് വ്യാപനം കാരണമാണ് നടപടികള്‍ വൈകിയത് എന്നായിരുന്നു കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാരിന്‍റെ വിശദീകരണം.പാകിസ്താന്‍, ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്, അഫ്ഗാനിസ്ഥാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ അയല്‍രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് 2014 ഡിസംബര്‍ 31ന് മുമ്പ് ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറിയ മുസ്ലിം വിഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഒഴികെ ഹിന്ദു, സിഖ്, ബുദ്ധിസ്റ്റ്, ജെയ്ന്‍, പാഴ്‌സി, ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ മത വിഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ പെട്ടവര്‍ക്ക് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പൗരത്വം നല്‍കുന്നതാണ് നിയമം.
